Amazing Korean Artist Does A Cover Of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Voodoo Child’

Every guitarist wanted to do a cover of “Voodoo Child” by Jimi Hendrix, or at least to be able to play it. But take another instrument and it is a whole new story.

Luna Lee played her version on a Gayageum a traditional Korean string instrument. Gayageum is related to Asian instruments, such as The Japanese koto and Chinese guzheng. It belongs to the zither class of instruments (which all have the same string length as their soundboard). It has 16 to 21 strings and movable bridges.

If you are new to eastern or Korean music, you are in for a treat. The whole piece sounds warm and pleasant but still rocks as every cover of a rock and roll song should.

Enjoy this opportunity to listen to something new and beautiful. And if you still don’t like it there are literally hundreds of guitar covers you can listen to.
