Sarah Kay performed another round of Spoken poetry and this one was entitled “Dreaming boy”.
In her poem, she speaks of gender and sexuality. She talked about dreaming about being a boy and spoke about the gray areas of being one of the third gender.
Here are some of the lines in her poem:
“I dreamed about being a Batman at night”
“What does it mean to dream myself a gender?”
“If I was not a lesbian, what possible explanation could I have?”
“When I finally asked you if you might want to date boys, I held my breath while you thought about it for a long quite moment”
“I haven’t found one I want to date yet, and for right now, I’m pretty in love with you if that’s okay”
