This Unique ‘Rainbow’ Grilled Cheese Features Different Flavors For Each Color Represented

Would anyone be willing to travel to Hong Kong with me? I’ll pay for this amazing grilled cheese sandwich, and you can pay for everything else. Sounds fair, right?

The Kala Toast shop in Hong Kong has taken your grandmother’s grilled cheese sandwich to a whole new level. No more Kraft Singles and Wonder Bread. This rainbow grilled cheese offered at the toast shop costs 42 HKD ($5) and each color has a different flavor.

According to @hkfoodiexblogger, these are the flavors you will experience if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of these unique sandwiches: “lavender (blue), basil (green), tomato (red) and the yellow one is actually the combination of 4 kinds of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, emmental and gruyere).”

It’s a sandwich clearly created for Instagram. You buy that thing, take a decent photo and you’ll gain at least 100 new followers. But how does it taste? Well, according to the food blogger, it’s a pretty average sandwich.

“The basil flavour was the most outstanding one comparatively but the cheese flavour still was not as storing as my expectation. It was also a bit oily in general. I would say the quality was rather average but we all cannot deny that it is photogenic.”

That doesn’t stop me from wanting to try it, although, I’m not sure if I could actually eat it. It’s too pretty. I would feel bad if I ruined something that beautiful.
