WATCH! Growing Veggies Inside Is Easy!

After a long, bitter cold winter, many of us are looking forward to spring. Especially those of us with a desire to grow our own herbs and vegetables. That can be hard to do with limited or no outdoor space, though.

Behold: Small indoor and outdoor gardens.

Below you’ll find five herb and veggie garden kits, all of which take up minimal space. Imagine tackling your Pinterest recipe board and being able to snip fresh basil, right from your small kitchen counter.

No more excuses to avoid eating your greens.

IKEA

IKEA is the megastore of megastores. Thanks to hydroponics (growing plants without soil), they’re now cashing in on the indoor garden craze. Checkout this demonstration video of their indoor garden. If you’re lucky enough to live near one, look for it at your local store.

Fish and Herbs

Just like weeding a garden can be tenuous, so can maintaining a fish tank. Which is why this next invention is a must-have: Back to the Roots Water Garden 2.0.

The top of the tank is a small space to grow delicious herbs. On the bottom, a place for fish to swim. The best part, however, is the maintenance:

“In this low-maintenance, mini aquaponics ecosystem, the fish feed the plants and plants clean the water-no water changes required!”

Make sure you include some scenery for the little fish, too.

Watch Your Garden Grow

You may have seen Aerogarden be advertised on television. Made by the same folks over at Miracle Gro, these tabletop gardens have a lid that grows as your seeds come to fruition. They also come in an array of sizes.

This short video shows a time lapse of a cherry Aerogarden.

Vertical Greens

This next one has both indoor and outdoor versions. LiveWall is a vertical garden, meaning it becomes one with your wall. Bring a little nature to your posh city dwelling, or simply turn a side of your home into a garden. Talk about adding some charm.

Handmade Box Gardens

Windowsill box gardens are about as old school as it gets. Think New York City high rises with planters sitting on the windows, basking in all of the sunlight while growing fresh veggies. PottingShedCreations on Etsy is all about gardening and sells adorable, handmade planters from recycled materials. Check them out here.

Watch this video from Just Eat Life to get ideas on how to make your own indoor garden, too.

So don’t let a small space stop you from embracing your inner green thumb.
