Back in 1964, the great Judy Garland stepped on stage to deliver her final performance on the last taped episode of The Judy Garland Show. Most people believe her variety show was set up to fail by the network, and everyone agrees she was treated poorly by the producers.
So during this final episode, Garland poured her heart out on stage and delivered a powerful performance of By Myself.
This performance was cut by CBS producers because they claimed it was “too dark,” so it never did air on television. But thankfully there is nothing too dark for the internet. It’s a shame people didn’t get to watch it 50 years ago.
