WATCH The World’s Largest Rooster Emerge From His Coop

If you’ve never heard of a Brahma chicken before (I hadn’t), then you may not know that they are gargantuan birds. They are so big, in fact, they are actually considered the kings of the chickens.

Developed in the U.S. from chickens imported from Shanghai, the average weight of a Brahma hen is around 10 pounds, and a rooster, between 12 and 18 pounds!

And quite possibly the world’s largest Brahma rooster is Merakli from Kosovo. He’s gained fame after his owner, chicken enthusiast Fitim Sejfijaj, shared a video of him online. Allegedly many people have even wondered if the bird is really a bird at all. Some have suspected it is really a guy in a chicken suit!

But it’s true, Merakli is definitely a bird and I’m certain he rules the roost where he comes from. Check him out emerging from his coop in the video below.

I would definitely not want to be around him when he’s hungry!
