Most of us don’t think twice about the Starbucks cups we discard after we finish our lattes, but illustrator Soo Min Kim sees things a little differently. With his artistic vision, the famous Starbucks siren is transformed into various fictional and non-fictional characters including The Beatles, Darth Vader, and Psy, the man who made us all dance to Gangnam Style.
First, Kim starts by painting over the majority of the siren logo and then the face is used as a template. That’s where the magic begins. From Van Gogh’s famous painting The Scream to 3D models, you never know what you’re going to get. You can watch the creative process on Kim’s YouTube channel.
