Youth Symphony Orchestra Performs Stunning ‘Ain’t No Mountain High’

Motown songs were soul music with a distinct pop influence that were the greatest hits in the early ’60s and are still popular to this time. One of the most remembered ones is “Ain’t No Mountain High” which was covered by different artists in their own rendition and style. This is a version that is a must-watch because of the surprising style.

“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is a pop/soul, danceable and romantic love song and a division of Motown, written by Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson in 1966 for the Tamla label. This song became a first successful hit single recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967, and their signature duet. And was popularized again in 1970 when it was recorded by Diana Ross a frontwoman by the former Supremes. This became her first solo number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Gimnazija Kranj Symphony Orchestra is a youth orchestra based at Gimnazija Kranj which is a school in Slovenia. Their version of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is really stunning, everything is amazing. No one would expect that a symphony would be as lively as this that sends great energy from performers that awed the patrons. Each instrument with its distinct and clear sound will transport the audience to a high level of music.

The introduction was just as expected from a symphony orchestra, delivering a melodious harmony. Followed by a lady playing the piano and a narrative song from the lead vocalists plus a cool voice of the male singer. Then suddenly and astonishingly the tempo started to increase with intensity until the end of the performance to everyone’s delight.
