Georgia Pastor Dewey Smith became an internet sensation when he challenged some of the homophobic teachings that are constantly being shared throughout the church system.
He had people standing on their feet clapping. He was making people think, and one of the more powerful moments comes when he drops this line, “You can’t evangelize and antagonize at the same time.”

It’s clear he still isn’t as supportive as he should be, but at least he isn’t spreading hate like so many others in the religious community.
