An All-Electric VW Microbus? Sign Me Up! (VIDEO)

If you’ve ever dreamed of road-tripping across America with your friends in a VW microbus, your dreams may be about to come true.

You’ll just have to wait a few more years.

In January, Volkswagon debuted its re-styled Microbus (calling the concept car the I.D. Buzz) at the Detroit Auto Show, and now says that the 21st century, 100 percent electric vehicle will be ready for the market by 2021.

According to Digital Trends:

The cabin offers space for up to eight passengers spread out over three rows of seats. Rails integrated into the wood floor and a clever multipurpose center console let users configure the interior in a variety of different ways. For example, the I.D. Buzz can carry eight adults, four with the console set up as a table, or two passengers and over 260 cubic feet of cargo. The front seats pivot 180 degrees when I.D. Pilot mode is engaged to create a spacious, living-room-like atmosphere.

All I can say is, this is one GROOVY vehicle.
