You Shall Not Pass, Dog: 3 Hilarious Minutes of Cats Refusing to Let Dogs Walk Past

If you’ve ever lived in a house where there are both cats AND dogs, you know that drama can ensue. There is the occasional vicious dog, and that of course never works out. However, in most cases, you’ve got a situation where the cat (who is usually the smaller animal in the family) is the total boss to the dog. And of course, because cats are cats, they usually bully the dogs. That’s because of a simple fact of life: cats are more often going to be jerks. Ha.

I’ve had both cats and dogs for all of my life and I’ve had some sweet cats and some a**hole cats, but I’ve only ever had one dog who was a jerk. And that dog didn’t MEAN to be a jerk. She was starving when we found her and she had food aggression issues. That didn’t go well with the cats and kittens we had around the farm, but she was not innately a vicious dog. Cats, on the other hand, are rarely vicious, but they just like to be mischievous. For the last several years, we’ve had the same two dogs: a chihuahua and a mixed-breed sweetie of a big dog.

The cats don’t bully the dogs or intimidate them, thankfully. However, they do sort of enjoy just agitating the dogs occasionally. For one thing, our big dog has a long tail, and the cats love to swat at their tail. Mostly, the dogs sort of make a wide berth around the cats just so that they don’t get pestered. I don’t blame them! I don’t love getting swiped by the cats when I walk by, either, and believe me, we have some who do that to us.

In the hilarious video below, you’ll see some sweet dogs who just can’t get their courage up to walk past these cats. And the second half of the video shows WHY the dogs have a healthy fear of the felines. Enjoy!

It makes me laugh every single time. Ha!
