7 Unlikely Animal Friendships That Will Melt Your Heart

Animals really have a way of warming our hearts. Everywhere you go, there’s a new video of a cat doing something cute, or a dog doing something amazing. Animals are also known to make some odd friends. Can you imagine a dog hanging out with a lion or an elephant? I couldn’t either. Those are just two of the unlikely animal friendships that I’ll be talking about.

Remember the Disney movie The Fox and the Hound? Here it is in real life! This fox and hound met when Tinni and his owner went out for a walk, and they came across the fox by chance. Now they always play together, and Tinni’s owner makes sure to take plenty of pictures.

Bubbles The Elephant And Bella The Dog

These two live at the Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina. Bubbles’s parents were killed by poachers, so she lives there as a rescue. Bella was left there by a contractor. The two have been inseparable ever since. Bubbles even plays fetch with Bella!

Bonedigger The Lion And Milo The Dog

Bonedigger the lion’s lifelong struggle with a metabolic bone disease has been eased somewhat by his friendship with Milo, who took him in immediately. Nowadays the two share a lot, whether it’s kisses or raw meat. It’s natural in a way, since Bonedigger has known Milo since he was a cub.

Leo The Lion, Baloo The Bear, and Shere Khan The Tiger

Seeing these three together makes me think of the Jungle Book, as do their names. The three were found as cubs in an Atlanta drug raid, and were moved to the Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Georgia for rehabilitation. Since then, the three have formed a special and brotherly bond.

Cleo The Cat And Forbi The Owl

Ever since Forbi was taken in by Cleo’s owner, the two have taken quite an interest in each other. Talk about unlikely friends – normally cats consider birds dinner!

Mubi The Monkey, Iain The Dog, And Daisey The Dog

When Mubi was rejected by her mother, a zookeeper stepped up to hand-raise her. Said zookeeper also happened to have two Jack Russel puppies, who took an interest to their primate sibling. Mubi gets to visit the zoo regularly, so she gets to visit both her birth family and her canine family.

Cassie The Kitten And Moses The Crow

When a stray kitten started showing up in the Collito’s yard, they set out some food for her. However, the food attracted some other animals too, such as Moses the crow. Moses eventually ended up helping to raise the kitten, even feeding her bugs. As Cassie grew up, the crow became her close friend and playmate until he presumably passed away.
