You’ve heard of service dogs, and maybe even service cats. How about service ducks, or service pigs? Here are 5 helpful service animals that you might have never thought about.

Daniel The Duck

This duck helps his owner cope with post traumatic stress disorder. He knows when it’s time to take a break, and will tell his owner when to lie down. What a good friend!

Hamlet The Pig

Hamlet here seems to be used to plane rides. His owner, who once battled anorexia with Hamlet at her side, takes him with her on trips to reduce stress. Surprisingly, he’s a well-behaved passenger.

Alpine The Cockatoo

This cockatoo gets to live in a college dorm – what an interesting roommate! She stays with her owner to help him with his social anxiety on campus. She must be quite the conversation starter!

Zoey The Mini Horse

Wouldn’t you love to take a mini horse to school with you? This horse has a job to do, though – she’s there to help a child with a rare genetic disorder that makes it hard to balance. Luckily, Zoey is there to help her owner walk through the halls, and the other kids love her!

Easter The Turkey

This turkey emotionally supported her owner through the loss of her husband. Naturally, when it was time to scatter her husband’s ashes, Easter’s owner took her on the flight to San Francisco. The other passengers were skeptical, but Easter didn’t disturb anyone and provided her owner with the support she needed.
