Hamilton Is Now Streaming on Disney+ and People Are Losing Their Minds

The musical production of “Hamilton” is now available to stream on Disney+. This beautiful musical won 11 Tony Awards back in 2016.

This blockbuster musical tells the story of Alexander Hamilton and other Founding Fathers but with a modern spin. Most of the roles are played by BIPOC actors and the score is a mix of R&B, hip-hop, and traditional show tunes.

It is available as of July 3, it is unclear how long the film will be on the streaming service, so watch it while you can. This is coming out a full year ahead of the film’s theatrical release. Fans are freaking out because this wasn’t supposed to come out until 2021, but it was pushed to Disney+ because of the coronavirus pandemic and theatre closures.

The version of “Hamilton” on Disney+ was filmed in June 2016 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway and features the original Broadway cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton.

Not only does Disney+ have the Hamilton film, but it also has a roundtable discussion with the original cast. Unfortunately, you can only watch with a subscription to Disney+, which will cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year. Also, you can get a bundle of Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN for $12.99 per month.

Here are just some of the amazing fan reactions.

People were more excited about this than Trump’s speech at Mount Rushmore.
