Now, I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes my wife and I like teasing our cats just a little. Of course, there’s a big difference between playful teasing and the kind of animal abuse we often see on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. Our relationships with our pets should be built on love, trust, and respect, the same as any human relationship.
And like any family member, it’s perfectly fine to be playful with our pets (so long as it’s not demeaning or harmful). Every cat has their own thing, but one of our kitties simply goes nuts over catnip, making it almost irresistible to tease him a bit by shaking the can in front of him. It’s so much fun watching his little eyes light up, and his plaintiff meows start to flow.
