As the owner of a wonderful pit bull mix named Ginger, I can testify that she is one of the most important things in my life. She is, in every sense of the word, a member of my family. My daughter and I are crazy about her, and she is incredibly protective of us.
The thought of losing my beloved Ginger is beyond words. And yet I know that sometimes pets do manage to wander away from home or are taken away as part of acrimonious separations.
