The mastermind behind this nifty hack is Becky Holden McGhee.
When she found out that there’s a right way to close these boxes, she immediately knew that she had to share it with the world.
“It’s only taken me 40 years, but I now know the correct way to close a cereal box,” she wrote on her Facebook.
And so, she has blessed us with a step-by-step guide of her box-folding technique.
Becky lives with her family in Blackpool, UK. She’s a mother of two beautiful daughters and, as you can see, a cereal lover. So, after about 40 years of being frustrated with soft cereals, she was so happy to finally be able to have neat boxes that can maintain the freshness and crisp of the morning family favorites. Not to mention that the trick is so basic that anyone can quickly learn how to do it. “The folding literally takes seconds, looks really neat, and stops cereal going all soggy,” Becky explained.
Here is her step by step instructions:
Step one – Get the flaps.
Step two – Pop them in.
Step three – Stick one long flap inside.
Step four – Push the side of the box inside.
Step five – Fold.
Step six – Slide the other longer flap inside.
Ta-da! I bet you already did it, didn’t you? With all your cereal boxes. Am I right?
