3. Italians do not consider 13 an unlucky number
Today, I found out that in Italy, 13 is not an unlucky number like what we have been accustomed to. Instead of avoiding the number 13, Italians avoid the number 17. After a little digging, it was not hard to find out that they do not like the number 17 because of it’s Roman numeral equivalent.
17, when converted to Roman numerals is XVII. If these letters are arranged like an anagram, you’ll get VIXI, which means “I have lived” in Italian. When properly tensed, it can mean that “my life is over.”
