Have you ever seen the animated movie, “Ants”? If so, you’d probably love this one. The world of ants is an incredibly fascinating realm. These industrious insects are almost everywhere, traveling across the globe. And for a creature that doesn’t have ears, they probably have listened to the world and nature more than anyone of us had.
However, due to their relatively small size, it’s difficult to observe them with our naked eyes. Usually, we see close photographs of them through the lens of professional photographers with their high-tech cameras. But this time, Analiza Daran De Guzman, a Filipina and a mother of three, was able to photograph them with her Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and clip-on macro lens!
She mentioned that her regular DSLR was broken but it certainly didn’t stop her from taking jaw-dropping photos. It took her four long hours in her garden before she finally called it a day. And the results of her patience are totally worth it!

You can really see the strength that these little critters have. It’s lifting a huge flower (relative to its size) with ease.
Delicately balancing on a string, you just can’t help but be at awe of their undeniable dexterity.
These insects are truly amazing. Did you know that they can lift up to fifty times their own weight?
Who would’ve thought that you can closely take a peek of the interesting world of ants through a humble mobile phone and strong lens?
“Insects move fast, ants particularly. It is tricky to take pictures with a mere mobile. However, ants stop moving fast when they start to drink water… so I gave them water,” Ms. De Guzman said, explaining how she made this masterpiece possible.
It’s rare to see ants with such detail in real life with their legs wrapped around the branch as they carefully carry their food. And if you take a closer look, you can even see the inside of their bodies!
Ms. De Guzman won a competition run by photo app ‘Agora’, which she undoubtedly deserves. She had such a creative way of showing us the beauty of these hardworking insects. Kudos!
