It is an awesome and a “perfect” treat to be watching two legendary artists performing on video. With different genres and styles in music, Ed Sheeran a folk-pop singer doing a duet with Andrea Bocelli an Italian opera singer. Wouldn’t you want to find out how the collaboration bound to be?
“Perfect” was a song composed by Ed Sheeran for his latest album Divide in 2017 that eventually reached number one on the U.K. Singles chart. In 2017 Sheeran turned this song into an orchestral version which was arranged by his brother Mathew Sheeran. And he immediately thought that this type of song needs someone like Andrea Bocelli to sing it. Bocelli was already familiar with the song and came to love it through his sons Amos and Matteo who are great fans of Sheeran.
This collaboration was recorded in Bocelli’s breathtaking Tuscan villa in Italy. Ed Sheeran, in spite of his success and popularity, felt humbled and awed as he walks into the beautiful home. While walking with his friends up on the drive he kept looking around and can’t believe that he’s in the home of the great opera singer. And inside he can’t help but be mesmerized while looking at photos on the wall with Bocelli meeting different dignitaries.
While recording Ed Sheeran was watching and staring enchantingly at Bocelli while Bocelli was singing. He can’t believe that he was sharing this moment with the living legend and is being treated equally. This duet’s official music video garnered three nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2018. Ed Sheeran will never forget this special moment and we can say that this collaboration was bound to be PERFECT.
