The song ‘Unchained Melody’ by the Righteous Brothers is a song that is etched on the minds of movie lovers and music lovers alike. For those who love music, it is impossible to not have at least one heartstring of emotion tugged when listening to the song. On the other hand, who can forget the movie “Ghost” where the iconic sensual pottery scene of Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze became cinema gold. “Unchained Melody” added the right amount of feels to add a sultry feel to the movie.
Some are arguing that the song doesn’t even have a life outside of that movie. To which I strongly disagree. The said song and a lot of old songs are still doing their rounds in the mainstream music industry. This is thanks to the covers and renditions that different artists make. Thanks to them, the song and other legends are immortalized and given new life.
A very notable rendition of the song by quite a unique ensemble is featured in a video posted on YouTube. What makes this rendition so sample, you may ask. Well, you see, if you like seeing people in uniform, then that fact alone will make this video a feat for you. But even if you don’t, just seeing a big ensemble do choreographed moves while making incredible music is amazing.
In various clips of the said video, you can just see the diversity of the musicians playing. And when the camera zooms out, boy the goosebumps are inevitable. My personal favorite is around 2:48, the level of perfectness that they have just to execute this exemplary feat is simply amazing.
