Orchestra Decides To Spice Things Up And Eat The World’s Hottest Chili Pepper Before Performance

Warning, this is not for the faint-hearted! There are a lot of things in life that do not go together- like water and oil, dogs and chocolate, or fast food and your diet. The list goes on and on. But among these things, some are just complete abomination including this pain-inducing performance that mixed chili peppers and an orchestra. The result? One hilarious and visually excruciating video that you can’t help but continue watching! And hey, it’s always going to be a hell of a story and a lovely, funny memory for them, right?

The Danish National Chamber Orchestra or DNCO thought it’d be fun to level things up a bit and eat some mouth burning chili before performing. The culprit for this odd act is Claus Pilgaard also known as Chili Klaus. He’s a YouTube star known for his love for music and spicy peppers. And so, he teamed up with the orchestra for what he calls “a special mix of chili tasting and classical music”. Never in my life have I imagined to see or hear about anything like this! But, well, whatever floats your boat.

The musical group each ate a whole piece of the world’s hottest chili pepper before playing Gade’s ‘Tango Jalousie’. Klaus conducted the orchestra, with Erik Heide as the concertmaster. Things started off really well. I mean, what else do you expect from these talented individuals? They played the intro of the song perfectly, without missing a bit. And no one seemed to feel any major adverse effects yet. But things started to escalate pretty quickly. Once the capsicum kicked in, oh boy, it was all in! Now cue in the tears of fire, coughs of desperation, and comical pained expressions! It was a nightmare!

Watch the video below and feel for these beet-red professional musicians.

Kudos to them, though, for carrying on and finishing the piece despite the fiery challenge! At what cost, you may ask? I guess we’ll never know. But it was surely an entertaining and impressive performance.
