Simon & Garfunkel – Still In Harmony After All These Years

Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” was first released in 1964. It was their first hit and was a big part of what led to their iconic status as one of the most famous music groups of that tumultuous decade.

That’s right, kids – it was not the band Disturbed who first recorded that song!

51 years ago today, January 1, 1966, this song hit #1.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel took the stage together several years ago and proved that they still have it in their golden years. Though the Disturbed cover is beautiful (and completely endorsed by Paul Simon, by the way), there is nothing like the sound of these two men singing this song.

Enjoy.
