You may have never heard of Emily Joy before today, but I guarantee you that after hearing her angelic voice, you’ll be a fan and you’ll never forget her. I heard her sing for the first time today. Well, John Denver’s “Country Roads, Take Me Home.” It’s a song that most people have heard and for most of us, especially if we’ve ever been down a country road ourselves, start singing along the minute we hear it. However, there’s something magical about Emily’s version of this song. She has the voice of an angel, truly, and she brings such a magical quality to this timeless classic folks song.
The song has been influential in our culture here in the United States and it even transcends the borders of our own country. The way Emily sings it turns it into a sweet serenade and it’s not impossible to believe that even the country roads themselves could rejoice at her cover of this song if they could!
