When you think of the legendary band, Queen, what’s the first song that comes to mind? I bet it’s their out of this world, iconic single, “Bohemian Rhapsody”. It’s a song everyone has probably heard of at least once. And even after 40 long years, it’s still one of the classics that has been sung and listened to for generations. This six-minute influential hit song is the embodiment of the artists’ creative freedom that has definitely challenged the status quo of the music industry. And I think you’d agree with me when I say that this incredible piece was nothing like you’ve ever heard before.
It has a certain effect on people that you can’t really put into words. Its peculiar structure gave it the edge yet the way the band performed it has put it to life. Perhaps that’s why every time you hear someone else perform it, you just had to stop and listen. Hoping that whoever had the courage to play the song gives justice to it. And it was something this passerby has dared to try. It was the usual loud and festive night at the streets of San Luis Obispo when a seemingly meek guy went for the public karaoke.
As soon as the intro of the Bohemian Rhapsody started, the whole street stopped whatever they were doing in anticipation. Suddenly, all eyes and ears were on him. Of which he gladly obliged and serenaded. The next thing we know, he was on fire! He sang the song in beautiful vibrato, full of passion and strong emotions.
You just can’t help but be at awe and ask, “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?” Kidding aside, that man right there is a real talent. He ended the song gracefully and the crowd immediately went wild.
